How did I get involved in Bowen?
A few years ago now, as a last resort for my horse, I picked up the phone and called a Bowen therapist. My horse, Lakota, had lameness issues, and was very grass affected - he had the staggers. To top it off, the day the "Bowen lady" came I was suffering from a very bad headache.
After the Bowen therapist had treated my horse, she turned to me and said "Do you need a treatment too?" I didn't know what I was getting myself in for when I said, "oh, yes please!"
My headache disappeared like magic. And I wondered if my horse felt this good! He responded very well - and after two treatments and a major diet change I was back riding him. After that experience I was hooked. It was something I had to learn. I spent two years becoming qualified in human and equine Bowen Therapy.

Indy had a stiff neck. After the bowen her flexion had increased dramatically and she was moving out a lot freer.

Bowen can address these problems by facilitating the healing process and re-balancing the horse's energy.

Before Bowen (left photo), Alice's spine curved around to the right and she had raised spinal processes. It was near impossible for her to correctly do a circle on the left rein. The photo on the right shows the improvement after three treatments - her spine is now straighter.
